Due to the progression of COVID-19 and the risk to the health and safety of participants, volunteers and sponsors, the Susan G. Komen Brainerd Lakes Race for the Cure Committee decided a few weeks ago to not hold the 21st Annual Brainerd Lakes Race for the Cure as a physical event on June 27, 2020. INSTEAD, they will partner with their parent affiliate, Susan G. Komen Minnesota, and create a Brainerd Lakes Team for the virtual Twin Cities Race for the Cure on Mother’s Day, May 10. A press release from organizers goes on to say that race information and registration details are available on www.komenminnesota.org. When registering, simply choose to join a team and select the Brainerd Lakes Team from the list. All race t-shirts and bibs will be mailed this year.
Their release says that two women die EVERY DAY as a result of breast cancer in Minnesota. It’s not going away, so I hope you can help in some way. Register or donate. And share. We have until Sunday (May 10, 2020) to register.
