BREAKING: Victim Of Vehicle-Pedestrian Fatal in Crow Wing County Identified

Crow Wing County Sheriff Scott Goddard has identified the victim of a weekend vehicle-pedestrian fatal crash as 51-year old Robert Joseph Hutchins of Merrifield.

The sheriff’s office reported that at 6:41 pm, on Saturday February 29th, the office received a 911 call about a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle near the intersection of County Highway 3 and County Road #109 in Mission Township. Upon arrival of deputies and first responders, a 51 year old Merrifield man was found lying in the northbound lane of 3. The male was pronounced deceased at the scene and later transported to the Ramsey County Coroner’s Office for an autopsy.  The report goes on to state that a single vehicle was traveling northbound on 3 when it struck the male victim who appeared to be in the lane of traffic. The victim was dressed all in black. The driver of the vehicle immediately stopped and is cooperating with law enforcement.

**The victim in this accident has been identified as 51 year old Robert Joseph Hutchins of Merrified. The driver in the accident has been identified as 59 year old Marlin Jay Sunderman of Edina.

The crash is still under investigation.
