Crow Wing County Residents – Improve Health And Challenge Yourself To March The Mississippi

march mississippi

When my friends at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby announced their 2019 Community Health Challenge last week, I decided to sign up right away, not think about it, and “just do it!”  Why?  Because A) it would keep me accountable,  B) having the community do it together sounded like a very fun way to stay fit – together, and C) I could possibly win money toward travel!   SIGN ME UP!  And I did.

The challenge is geared to give adults age 18 and older some extra motivation to either START exercising or to KEEP exercising and hopefully continue the activity as part of a lifestyle commitment.  All we do is walk at our own time, at our own pace, and collectively, we try to “walk” (or “march”) the length of the Mississippi River – from Lake Itasca to the Gulf of Mexico AND BACK – which is 4,700 miles!

Those encouraged to participate are those living in Crow Wing County – again 18 and older.  The timeline is from Monday, April 1st through Thursday, June 20th, 2019 (although you can register up through April 15th).

All we do is register at the website (below), track your weekly mileage and enter it by each Friday.  Easy!

At the end of the Challenge, one participant will be randomly drawn to win a $2,000 Travel Voucher!!!!!  Plus, there may be other fun prizes along the way.

Please note, too, that your kids can join the 2019 Youth Challenge at the same website, with a different timeline and a different prize at the end of the March.

Please register online at www.CRMCHealthChallenge.com and let’s do this together, Crow Wing County!
