A fire that was first discovered just before noon on Thursday (3/5/20) at a garden center in Monticello quickly engulfed the facility, which has been identified as Dan & Jerry’s Garden Center.

KSTP-TV is reporting that there was a lot of heavy, black smoke coming from the building when fire crews arrived.  They say it was put out quickly, but not before a lot of damage was done.  Two-and-a-half greenhouses were totally destroyed, along with thousands of plants there were being grown for future shipment to area retailers.  The report says four people were in the building when the fire broke out, but all got out safely.  Nobody was hurt.
