Google released a commercial today that brought back all kinds of nostalgia with a grown-up Macaulay Culkin recreating his iconic role in ‘Home Alone’.

Gold. Absolute gold. 

Culkin recreating all of the famous scenes from one of the most iconic movies of the last 30 years is as good as it gets. Google thinking to incorporate their Google Assistant into it was the perfect level of marketing. It didn’t feel forced and added to the content. Showing this around the office has brought on smiles to everyone watching it. ‘Home Alone’ is a staple around this time of year and Google found the perfect way to capitalize on it. 

Personally I think the best part was using the Google Assistant to see that the pizza delivery man was outside the door. The difference between sliding the money through the door and paying online is the perfect segue from Kevin as a kid in 1990 to adult Kevin in 2018.

Hopefully this raises the bar for commercial content. I know I wouldn’t mind seeing more of this stuff bringing me back to my childhood.
