The attached photo was an attempt to capture a little blowing snow which showed up in our Baxter backyard on Friday morning, October 11th. (Can you see those flakes?)
It’s early but it’s not shocking. And, it was in the forecast. It’s fall in Minnesota.
While we ran to the window to note a few flakes, folks in North Dakota were plowing and their shoveling their way through a foot of snow with more on the way.
The earliest documented and measurable snowfall in Minnesota was reported at The Duluth Airport On August 31st of 1949. That might have temporarily fouled the Labor Day mood just a tad bit. It was a trace.
Seasonal transitions are in full play.
Here we go.
