
James Richard Ardito, who was convicted of armed robbery of the First National Bank of Deerwood, Garrison Branch which occurred in 2007, has escaped custody.
According to a press release sent out by the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Department, Ardito escaped from custody on October 2nd, 2018 from a Residential Reentry Office located at 300 South 4th Street, Suite 1210 in Minneapolis. He was scheduled for supervised release but escaped.
Ardito was indicted on November 18th, 2008 and pled guilty on January 26th, 2009 to one county of armed bank robbery. He was sentenced to 132 months in prison for taking $2,870 from the bank. He also admitted he assaulted and put the life of another person in jeopardy by using a dangerous weapon during the commission of the crime.
