In a zoom meeting on Tuesday, MSHSL board members voted to move both football and volleyball to the spring season due to COVID-19.

According to KARE 11, One big reason for moving football to the spring was due to the fact that the Minnesota Department of Health deemed it the only fall team sport that is considered to be high risk for COVID-19 transmission.

Soccer will go forward this fall with certain modifications like a 30% reduction in competition and a 20% reduction of weeks. No scrimmages will be allowed. Individual fall sports like cross country, girls tennis, girls swimming and diving are being given the green light for the fall as well.
