One Hour Graduation Special Planned For Saturday, May 16th On All Major TV Networks

With the Class of 2020 unable to throw their caps in the air this year, LeBron James is putting together a special graduation celebration. The one-hour special is called “Graduate Together: America Honors the High School Class of 2020”, and will air this Saturday, May 16, at 7:00.

LeBron has teamed with Laurene Powell Jobs’ XQ Institute and the Entertainment Industry Foundation to host a virtual graduation ceremony for the more than 3 million high school seniors in the U.S. This virtual graduation ceremony will feature an impressive list of dignitaries, actors, musicians, athletes, and activists including former President Barak Obama, who will deliver a commencement address to graduating seniors nationwide.

Musical entertainment will be provided by the Jonas Brothers, Kane Brown, Pharrell Williams, and others. Special guests include Nobel Prize winner Malala Yousafzai, and Olympic Gold Medal winner Megan Rapinoe.

This one hour special will Air simultaneously across all broadcast platforms- ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC, plus a host of leading entertainment, social media and streaming platforms, including YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, TikTok, PeopleTV  and Complex Networks.

The commercial-free broadcast will be a mix of commencement addresses, musical performances, and inspirational vignettes.

I can tell you with certainty, this is a far better graduation celebration than the one I attended when I graduated. Congratulations to all the lakes area graduating seniors! Job well done.
