Law enforcement have closed off a street near St. Mathias Road just outside of Brainerd during a standoff at an individual’s home.

According to the Brainerd Dispatch, Capt. Scott Goddard with the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office said that they were alerted around 12:15 pm about an individual who possibly wanted to harm himself. The tactical team for the county was called in to negotiate. 

The Sheriff’s office is asking that people stay away from St. Mathias Road area during Friday afternoon. The negotiation with the individual was ongoing as of 3:00 pm.
