Ken Thomas

Ken Thomas first opened a mic in 1977, on a station playing exclusively polka music. That explains the occasional accordion music coming from his cubicle. Ken enjoys watching and playing sports, and still plays basketball, hockey, and golf, and likes to downhill ski.  He likes the outdoors, fishing, boating, camping. Ken likes music of all types, and plays drums in two bands. It’s plain to see he hasn’t grown up yet, but when he does, he hopes to get a real job. Ken can be found every morning from 6-9 with Tess Taylor, on the Morning Mess with Ken and Tess. They like to entertain, inform, and have fun and get their listeners involved with the show. Someday, they hope to get it right.

Tess Taylor

Tess Taylor is originally from Duluth.  She attended the University of Minnesota Duluth and graduated in 1996 with a degree in Communication and Sociology.  She began her radio career that year in Duluth, then moved to the Twin Cities and worked for ABC Radio and Radio Disney as a promotions manager from 2000 to 2004.  While there, she was introduced to her (now) husband, Derrick and the two moved to Breezy Point in 2004 when she applied for and landed her current job at, what is now, Hubbard Radio Brainerd.  Right now, Tess is MAINLY a co-host on 106.7 WJJY’s “Morning Mess with Ken & Tess.”  She is also the news director and public service director for all of Hubbard Radio Brainerd.  Tess can be found all over the Brainerd Lakes Area as an emcee and volunteer for many events and organizations.  Her passion is supporting the Alzheimer’s Association and the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.  Tess and her husband still reside in Breezy Point with their 5-year old daughter, Lola.  And yes, she owns 74 hoodie sweatshirts.
