This Haunted House Requires A 40-Page Waiver, Safe Word, Insurance and More

We all know that haunted houses are supposed to be scary, but how scary is TOO scary?

Not only does the McKamey Manor haunted house in Summertown, Tennessee warn there’s a chance of death, but those attempting to go through it must be at least 21, sign a 40-page waiver, have insurance, have a safe word and understand that the tour could take over 8 hours!

WFLA-TV reports that owner Russ McKamey offers thousands of dollars to anyone who completes the tour, but says no one ever has. He records each tour on video — for his own protection he says — and then posts them online, showing them quitting in humiliation.  He says no one has ever completed it (as of 10/28/19).  The website,, warns of physically demanding environments, but McKamey says the manor is a mental game.

Do you think you could handle it?

Me?  No WAY!
