This is Severe Weather Awareness week in Minnesota and I thought I would take a moment and remind everyone that on Thursday, April 15th, the County Emergency Management officials will be sounding tornado sirens (or doing a Tornado Drill) across the state at two separate times.
The outdoor warning sirens will go off Thursday at 1:45 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. as part of Tornado Drill Day. The drills will allow everyone to practice their plans in case of a tornado.
The first drill is intended for institutions and businesses to practice their plans. The second is for second-shift workers and families at home.
It’s recommended that everyone have a plan both at work (or school) and home as to what to do in case of a tornado.
