James Corden has made his mark on TV’s across the United States the last couple of years, with his most popular bit being ‘Carpool Karaoke’.
Sometimes ignorance is bliss, and I wish I didn’t know how the sausage is made when it comes to Carpool Karaoke. As you can see by the video below, all is not what it seems for the popular segment.
Now logically, I completely get it. You can’t be on your A-game trying to belt out the second verse of ‘I Don’t Care’ with Ed Sheeran and Bieber while also trying to decide if you should beat the next intersection with the yellow light upcoming.
Looking back it should have been more obvious that something like this was happening. I guess I just assumed they drove circles in a production lot or a gated community most of the time before getting B-Roll and special bits out on the open roads of LA.
Admittedly, this will not change my viewing habits when it comes to clicking on the YouTube videos of the series. I will still happily click on the thumbnail of Corden and the artist sitting shotgun if I like their music. But now I will be looking for any other tricks they are trying to pull.
