“Wonder Woman, Wonder Woman. All The world’s waiting for you, and the power you possess. In your satin tights, fighting for your rights and the old red, white and blue. Wonder Woman, Wonder Woman. Now the world is ready for you, and the wonders you can do.”
Tess Taylor supplied the attached photo of her younger self as Wonder Woman. Her super heroine mother helped create this costume which Tess then wore as she trick or treated her way from door to door through the neighborhoods of Duluth back in 1980. (Ain’t she cute?)
Back in the early 1980s, Wonder Woman was riding the pop culture wave created by the television series which starred Lynda Carter as the super empowered Amazonian crime buster. The character was based on a DC Comics creation which originally hit news stands back in the early 1940s.
The grown up Tess now has her own darling daughter. Little Lola may or may not have any idea who Wonder Woman is or was. But, it will be up to Wonder Mom (Tess) to ensure that Lola is fully costumed and ready for this year’s round of Halloween candy gathering.
Tess and Ken Thomas are the two we wake up listening to each and every weekday morning here on 106.7 WJJY. Tess can also heard on Saturday nights hosting our 80s show. You might want to join Tess will as she flavors her All 80s Saturday Night show with some halloweeny musical choices on October 26th.
“Wonder Woman, Wonder Woman. All our hopes are pinned upon you. And the magic you can do.”
